A new build project for an APOC (Airport Operations Control Centre) was proposed. The client engaged Cap Gemini to be the project lead, Computacenter as the IT services provider and AJAR Technology as the specialist systems integrator. All parties worked together to consult and design a state of the art control room facility.  This was then installed by Computacenter and AJAR. 29 departments are now in 1 centralised control room location.  All PCs are securely back racked in a secure comms room and the information is now shared across 40 sq m of video wall screen, for the first time in real time. The stakeholders can now see trends occurring in real time and generate actions accordingly. This new infrastructure has increased operational resilience, one of the key objectives of the enquiry report.

CASE STUDY 2: SKY

BSKYB approached AJAR Technology to design an AV technology refresh for corporate boardrooms within the executive suites at the client’s Osterley HQ and an additional high profile site in London Victoria. The existing AV technology and switching equipment had become unreliable, cumbersome and outdated and, given the use of the boardroom environments by senior executives and high profile clients, BSKYB required a solution that was robust, intuitive and innovative to mirror the corporate values of the BSKYB brand. AJAR-tec proposed a Savant IP based Commercial Room Automation system using a simple and intuitive app via an iPad.

CASE STUDY 3: LONDON 2012

LONDON OLYMPICS 2012

British Telecom required the design and implementation of a comprehensive CATV system for the venues within the M25 for the London 2012 Olympic games.

AJAR Technology proposed a hybrid fibre coaxial CATV distribution system across the Olympic Park and Village. The solution comprised the design, supply, installation and in-games support for a CATV system across 23 Olympic Park Venues and 41 competition & non-competition venues. The system relayed 40 Olympic real-time analogue & digital channels and 50 public & commercial channels through 9000 end-points.

CASE STUDY 4: LANCS POLICE

AJAR Technology installed 5x video walls in 5 locations across the county. This system was delivered by a milestone Smartwall application server to enable video image mobility across all sites with ultiple Smartwall Client systems to enable remote locations desktop and videowall concurrent viewing.

The system offers the ability to securely share information between Contact Centre and Control Room locations with a true multi site collaboration to manage incidents, seamless real time viewing and control of connected CCTV systems. The constabulary now has the ability to push images to remote Smart phone and tablet devices with automated Incident handling and individual operator image control.

CASE STUDY 5: FITZROY PLACE

We were engaged to design and implement the integrated Lighting Control in addition to the Audio Visual systems & Cat6 structured cabling within each of the 230 apartments at a high-end development in Fitzroy Place, London. Over and above the standard specification, 11 of these apartments were designated as premier dwellings, each including a sophisticated Crestron Home Automation control system to integrate the Lighting, HVAC and Video Door Entry systems.

Our in-house project delivery team also worked closely with the developer and consultants to create an individual lighting design for all 230 apartments including finalising the quantity and location of lighting control keypads in over 180 apartment types. This design work also comprised the provision of bespoke keypad finishes for a total of over 2,300 keypads, with each button individually programmed for customisable scene-setting control according to resident preference.

We designed a comprehensive IT network infrastructure, CCTV & video door entry system, as well as the Lighting Control & Home Automation systems within the 27 high-end apartments, blending a range of technologies to create a fully integrated building-wide system. At the core of this system is the building-wide IT network infrastructure; this enables the centralised control of the CCTV, BMS, Home Automation & Lighting Control systems, providing remote management and support capabilities for both the Landlord’s & integrated in-apartment control systems.

Within each apartment, the day one lighting & HVAC systems are controlled via one wired in-wall & one wireless tablet device. The bespoke programming can be further customised by the residents based on their individual requirements to provide for multi-room AV systems, customised lighting scene settings & automated blind control in addition to allowing for remote access enabling total control of the apartment systems from anywhere in the world.
